The drop in temperature, snow and icy can cause havoc on the road and make these vehicles hard to control – providing you actually get on the roads in the first place.
Car door locks can freeze up overnight which means that sometimes you are refused entry from your own cars.
There are two quick hacks drivers can try to defrost the lock.
Express.co.uk tested these two methods out and managed to gain access to a vehicle when the lock had completely frozen over.

If you still can’t get the key in the lock or turn it while in there then you should try and heat up the key slightly.
Warming the key up slightly be moving the metal part over a flame from a lighter or match can generate some heat which could allow the key to turn.
You need to be careful while doing this as you don’t want to melt the plastic casing or damage the key itself.

This is best being done the night before as a preventative method.
